Kibabii University Soccer men lost 1-0 to Chuka University at the third-place playoffs in the Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) National Championship played at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) between 13th and 15th August 2021.
KIBU was participating at the top-level Tournament for the first time, having qualified as the Western Universities (WEKUSA) champions after beating Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in 2019.
At the group stages, KIBU beat Cooperative University 1-0 before going down to the hosts (JKUAT) 2-0 in the arguably most electric match of the pool.
At the quarter finals, KIBU met Cooperative University for the second time in the weekend beating them through penalty shootouts to secure a place at the semifinals. At semis, Kenyatta University dimmed KIBU’s buoyant dream by 1-0.
