The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo attended the Africa Public Service Day 2024 National Celebrations on the Theme: “Building a Resilient Education System: The Foundation for a Future Public Service as a Catalyst for Revitalizing the Economy”. The event was held at the Kenya School of Government Nairobi between 23rd and 24th June, 2024. The Presenter was Dr. Belio Kipsang, PhD, C.B.S., Principal Secretary, State Department for Basic Education. As a discussant, Prof Ipara was privileged to pour in his wealth of experience in higher education spanning many years. Other discussants included: Dr. Nancy Macharia who is the Chief Executive Officer, Teachers Service Commission, FCPA Charles Ringera, the Chief Executive Officer, Higher Education Loans Board, and Mr. Geoffrey Monari, the Chief Executive Officer, University Fund.
The Celebrations organized by the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, State Department for Public Service focused on the following topics: Lifelong learning and technological transformation; the role of Competency Cased Curriculum (CBC) in preparing the Kenyan Child for the 21st Century; Access, quality and relevance of our education system; and Teacher preparedness on CBC.
