Kibabii University continues to broaden international learning opportunities for its students through the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme in partnership with NLA University College, Norway. The second cohort of student beneficiaries, Mr. Kiboi Oscar Segero and Ms. Faith Henzen departed for Norway on Monday 5th August, 2025, to begin their studies for the Autumn Semester.
Prior to departure, the duo underwent am induction session facilitated by the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies Dr. Robert Kati alongside the Coordinator for International Linkages Dr. Patrick Owoche, and Mr. Onex Opati. The session offered essential guidance on adapting to a new academic environment, personal safety while abroad, and the importance of maintaining consistent communication with Kibabii University. Their accommodation was arranged through NLA University College’s International Office under the Sammen student housing network, ensuring proximity to campus and access to key amenities.
This exchange is part of an ongoing collaboration between Kibabii University and NLA University College, formalized in 2024 through an inter-institutional agreement under the Erasmus+ Programme for Higher Education Students and Staff. The partnership is designed to promote academic exchange and enhance the internationalization agenda of both institutions. So far, two cohorts of Kibabii University students have benefited from this transformative experience.
The first cohort, consisting of Ms. Milicent Machuma Wekesa and Mr. Silali Phillipe, participated in the Spring Semester 2025 from February 3 to June 20 at NLA’s Sandviken Campus in Bergen, Norway. Having recently returned to Kenya, they reflected on their experience, describing it as deeply rewarding and transformative. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to both Kibabii University and NLA University College for the invaluable opportunity, and highly recommended the programme to fellow students seeking enriching international exposure in a warm and scenic learning environment.
The students from both cohorts paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning, Partnerships, Research and Innovation), Prof. Julius Maiyo. Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Maiyo congratulated the students, encouraged them to embrace the cultural and academic diversity of their host country, and advised them to uphold integrity and represent Kibabii University with dignity on the global stage.
