SOKU Leaders pay a Courtesy Call to Governor Lusaka

On 17th September 2024, Kibabii University student leaders, accompanied by the University Management, paid a courtesy call to Bungoma County Governor, H.E. Kenneth Lusaka. The delegation was led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo. This visit reflects the University’s tradition of giving newly elected student leaders the opportunity to engage with the County leadership for advice and guidance.

During the meeting, Governor Lusaka expressed his commitment to supporting the University’s various projects, including the construction of access roads bordering the University surroundings. He also pledged to explore partnerships with external stakeholders to support future capital projects for the University.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the Governor for the continued support from the County Government, highlighting the long-standing positive collaboration between the two institutions. He specifically thanked the Governor for his role in ensuring that Kibabii University was awarded a Charter in 2015 during his first term.

Speaking on behalf of students, the Student President, Mr. Phillipe Silali, echoed the Vice Chancellor’s sentiments. He extended his appreciation to the County Government for supporting various initiatives, notably the completion of the KOICA II Water Project, which has significantly improved water supply to the University. Mr. Silali further urged the County Government to continue its support for future University’s requests.
