The Kibabii University’s Center for Languages and Cultural Studies wishes to inform the general public that the inaugural Ken Walibora Public Lecture that had been slated for 10th April 2024 has been rescheduled to 9th April 2024.
The Public Lecture will be held in remembrance of the distinguished scholar, writer and media personality. The event which will be held on 9th April 2024 in Auditorium C starting from 9:30am to 1pm will bring together scholars, students and lovers of Kiswahili to reflect on the outstanding works of the late Ken Walibora. The Chief Speaker will be Prof. F.E.M.K. Senkoro, Professor Emeritus of Kiswahili, University of Dar es Salaam.
Kibabii University is forever indebted to Ken Walibora for the precious time he spent training and mentoring students in the Department of Kiswahili and Other African Languages. Walibora is renowned for his creative works such as Kidagaa Kimemwozea, Siku Njema, Ndoto ya Amerika, Ndoto ya Almasi among many others. A great Kiswahili orator and champion, his impact on the current crop of Kiswahili students, teachers, scholars, writers and publishers remains immeasurable.
