Kibabii University has today Tuesday 2nd August, 2022 welcomed the appointment of Prof. Eng. Kirimi Henry Kiriamiti as the new Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics and Students Affairs).
In a handing over ceremony attended by the University Management, Prof. Kiriamiti took over from the Dean, School of Computing and Informatics Prof. Franklin Wabwoba who has been serving in acting capacity since early July 2022. The office fell vacant in March 2020 following the appointment of Prof. Solomon Shibairo as Vice Chancellor of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
Until his appointment, Prof. Kiriamiti was a Full Professor in Process and Environmental Engineering in Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at Moi University. He holds a combined Bachelors and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering of Technical University of Wroclaw, Poland, and PhD in Process and Environmental Engineering of ENSIACET in Toulouse, France. He has been actively involved in a range of sustainable research in energy engineering projects. Among the research and validation projects includes production of biogas from Agriculture waste and installation of biogas in institution and families. He was aslo involved in consultancy involving development of Pan-African University curriculum in Engineering, and establishment of Rivatex East Africa.
Prof. Kiriamiti comes with a wealth of experience both public and private sector. He has worked as Dean, Deputy Principal and Vice Chancellor of various Universities in Kenya. He has also worked with Kenya Pipeline company (KPC) in training and development of curriculum in Mordant college of oil and gas. He is the President of Institute of Chemical Engineers in Kenya and a fellow member of Kenya Institution of Engineering Technologists and Technicians. He is also a member Chemical society of Kenya and Registered by Engineers Board of Kenya.
