The Student Organization of Kibabii University (SOKU) elections are slated for Friday 31st March, 2023. One major activity towards the elections was the competitive appointment of Students Electoral Commission (SEC) officials comprising of commissioners, clerks and security personnel. The SEC officials were inducted on Monday, 20/3/23 on the election process.
The induction was presided over by Kibabii University Electoral Commission (KEC) Chairman, Dr. Robert Kati and other commissioners including Dr. Alice Mutai, Dr. B. Nasongo, Mr. Zablon Mamai and Ms. Linet Nabutola.
During the induction, the SEC officials, elected Idris Makete, Marion Akinyi and Gentrix Barasa as their Chairperson, Secretary and Head of Security respectively.
The following is the approved schedule of activities for the 2023/2024 elections for the remaining period.
Tuesday 21st March, 2023 – Nomination & clearance of aspirants.
Wednesday 22nd March, 2023 – Appeals on election nominations and clearance.
22nd to 27th March, 2023 – Campaign period
Tuesday, 28th March 2023 – Electoral college aspirants’ presentations Kamukunji 0900hrs-1300hrs.
-Student Council aspirants’ presentations Kamukunji 1400hrs – 1700hrs.
Tuesday, 28th March, 2023 -Campaigns officially closed.
Thursday 30th March 2023 -Prayer service for peaceful election campaigns and peace walk.
Friday, 31st March, 2023 -Elections
Monday 3rd April, 2023 -Appeals for elections
Thursday, 6th April, 2023 -Swearing in
