The National Youth Service (NYS) has donated 1,000 Cypress Tree Seedlings to Kibabii University on 2nd June, 2024.
The Head of the Delegation, Superintendent Mwangi Magu, said the trees will go a long way in increasing Kenya’s forest cover and contributing towards the realization of H.E President William Ruto’s initiative of planting at least15 billion trees by 2032.
The trees were received by Kibabii University staff led by Isaac Manje, who is incharge of Corporate Communications and Marketing, alongside Joyce Wanyonyi, Aggrey Shamwama, and Abnery Malenje.
The Delegation from the National Youth Service was hosted at Kibabii University for almost a month in preparation for the 61st Madaraka Day Celebrations that were held at the Masinde Muliro Stadium in Kanduyi.
