I joined Kibabii University in 2021 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Comparative Literature, a decision that has significantly shaped both my academic journey and personal development. From the moment I began the program, I was immersed in a rich intellectual environment that encouraged curiosity, exploration and critical engagement with literature from diverse cultural and historical contexts. Throughout my studies, I gained extensive knowledge and strengthened my analytical skills. I also deepened my appreciation for the role of literature in understanding society and human experience. This exposure broadened my worldview and expanded my intellectual horizons in ways I had not anticipated when I first enrolled.
The teaching staff at Kibabii University played an instrumental role in cultivating this growth. Their scholarly expertise, dedication to academic excellence and genuine commitment to student success created a learning atmosphere that was both rigorous and supportive. They challenged me to think more deeply refining my academic voice and approach texts with heightened critical awareness. Their mentorship not only guided my academic progression but also inspired my ambition to pursue further studies particularly the desire to undertake a PhD in the field.
Equally significant was the contribution of the non-teaching staff, whose professionalism ensured that essential services which range from administrative assistance to library support and general student welfare were consistently reliable. Their efficiency and care created a stable environment that allowed me to concentrate fully on my studies.
My experience at Kibabii University has nurtured resilience, discipline and a strong sense of intellectual curiosity. The knowledge, encouragement and support I received have strengthened my resolve to advance academically and contribute meaningfully to Comparative Literature. I remain deeply grateful for the foundation built during my time at Kibabii University and look forward to the next chapter of my academic journey.
