My postgraduate journey at Kibabii University remains one of the most defining phases of my academic and professional life. When I first walked through the university gates, I was filled with ambition but also uncertainty about the challenges ahead. However, the warm, structured, and intellectually vibrant environment quickly reassured me that I had chosen the right place to advance my studies.
A key part of my experience was the strong leadership within the postgraduate system. The office of the Dean, School of Graduate studies led by Dr. Robert Kati, provided consistent guidance, ensuring that postgraduate processes that is from coursework to research milestones were well coordinated and student-centered. The Dean’s commitment to academic excellence, timely communication and mentorship created a solid foundation that supported my academic progress. Equally influential was the Chair of the Department of Social Sciences Dr. Margaret Matisi, whose open-door policy and dedication to high scholarly standards helped shape my academic direction. My Supervisors Dr. Wapukha Precious and Dr. Graham Amakanji were not only experts in their fields but also mentors who invested their significant time and effort in nurturing my academic potential. Their constructive feedback throughout my coursework and research helped refine my analytical thinking and sharpen my writing skills.
My research journey was supported by the university’s impressive academic resources. The physical and digital libraries and online journals made my research efficient and enjoyable. Outside the classroom, interactions with fellow postgraduate students created a vibrant academic community. Through study groups and shared experiences, we built friendships and professional networks that continued to be valuable.
Looking back, Kibabii University has molded me into a disciplined, confident, and research-driven professional. The values of integrity, hard work, and innovation continue to shape my aspirations. I am truly proud to be an alumnus of Kibabii University.
