Following the directive from His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta C.G.H. President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces that there should be a Joint Security Committee between the University, Local Community and Security Agencies for all universities, Kibabii University and the County Security Team formed a 21 member committee comprising the Sub-County security team, representatives of the business community, the dominant religion from the University, Students representatives, University Management, Nyumba Kumi, Landlords, Bodaboda, the community and the County Government chaired by the Deputy County Commissioner, Mr. Michael Yator.
The University Community Security Committee was established to:
- Enhance the security of the University and the Community
- Enhance cohesive existence between the University, students and the Community,
- Ensure security within and around the University,
- Receive and process reports on security and making decisions affecting the local community in the best interest of the University and the community.
Kibabii University Community Security Committee was officially launched on 10th March, 2020.
