KIBU Student Emerges Top at a Multinational Literary Competition

Kibabii University’s Samson Waswa is the winner of the creative writing category in the 3rd Edition of the Amity International Literature Festival, conducted between 23rd-26th June, 2022. The 3rd year student pursuing Bachelor of Education (English and Literature) topped over 60 participants’ entries in the competition. He was trailed by Sumit Jena and Saman Khan, both from India.

The virtual event organized by Amity International University, India is an annual event that seeks to nurture students’ talents and promote the growth of Literature in the world. This year’s event attracted delegates and guest speakers from over 70 countries.

Dr. Christine Namayi, a lecturer from the Department of English, Literature, Journalism and Mass Communication who

accompanied a number of students from the Department was elated by the performance of the student, terming the conference a big leap in growing the English language amongst countries.

“This event permits every participant to show their exceptional and captivating abilities as debaters, artists, creators and authors while at the same time giving them an enhancing scholarly encounter. We are proud to have left a mark in it!,” she said.
