Kibabii University will now receive free student and faculty exchange with Chandigarh University out of several engagements with the University through Kibabii University’s Office of Linkages and Internal Affairs. Between 4th and 9th of July 2022, Dr. Patrick Owoche was hosted as a resource person in the School of Computer Science and Engineering in the Chandigarh University International Faculty Development Program (IFDP). Having attained attained a prestigious A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Chandigarh University is the youngest and only private university in India to bag an A+ grade in the first cycle of the accreditation process and has also become the only state private university in Punjab to be accredited by NAAC.
The six (6) days event involved interactive meetings with the Chandigarh University management and faculties. The event attracted over 50 international faculties who attended in person.
Dr. Owoche interacted with Chandigarh University Faculties and students and gave lectures and talks key among them being: a talk to Computer Science and Engineering Faculties on Post Graduate Research; discussion with the Dean of Academic Affairs on staff and student exchange programmes; capacity building for both partners where one partner has experts; online lectures to students on identified topics/modules in courses in the two universities; joint projects; virtual sharing of labs and other facilities among others.
He also met the Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr) RS Bawa who appreciated the collaborative working relationship between KIBU and Chandigarh University. Prof Bawa promised a one-semester exchange for Kibabii University where students will be offered free accommodation and no tuition fee charged. He also offered a one-semester faculty/researcher stay in the University and a tarining program for two years for Kibabii University students at a half tuition fee
