A team of researchers led by Dr. Patrick Owoche and Dr. Robert Kati has successfully secured funding worth 4 million Norwegian Kroner (approximately 49 million Kenyan Shillings) through the Erasmus + Global Mobility program, aiming to enhance the scope of student and faculty exchanges with NLA University College in Norway.
The central aim of this mobility program is to instil European democratic values, broaden global perspectives, and foster mutual understanding among students. The program is designed to provide enriching intercultural experiences aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 17, which promotes partnerships for global development through North-South collaborations.
Building on a robust partnership, Kibabii University has been actively engaged in collaborative initiatives with NLA University College that culminated into an exchange program between the two institutions. A number of staff and students from NLA University visited Kibabii University in January 2024, significantly enhancing the academic and cultural interactions between the two institutions.
This successful funding application underscores Kibabii University’s commitment to international education and its proactive approach to global academic engagement.
