Kibabii University fraternity joins the family and the entire Nation of Kenya to mourn the passing on of the third President of Kenya the late H.E Emilio Mwai Kibaki an iconic leader who transformed the education sector.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo accompanied by members of the University Management Board and Deans paid a courtesy call on the County Commissioner of Bungoma to sign the Condolence Book for the Third President of Kenya.
The Vice Chancellor paid tribute to the former President describing him as a great leader and scholar who had foresight thinking about development, free education, the Kenya Constitution (2010) and established 23 public universities. Being the Founding Chancellor of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, H.E Mwai Kibaki played a big role in the establishment of Kibabii University College which eventually became Kibabii University. He will also be remembered for developing the blue print for infrastructural development including the Thika Super Highway among other notable landmarks across the country.
“It would be a great honour for the fallen Hero if the Nairobi Expressway was named after the late President Emilio Mwai Kibaki,” said the Vice Chancellor.
