KIBU Alumna Faith Ogallo Honored by World Olympians Association

Kibabii University’s alumna Faith Ogallo has been inducted into the prestigious “Olympians for Life” program for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In a letter dated 4th July, 2024, Faith Ogallo OLY received a communication from the President of the World Olympians Association (WOA) of her selection as an inductee alongside four other Olympians worldwide to receive the honor this year. The Olympians for Life program celebrates Olympians who have not only excelled in the Games but have also made significant contributions to their communities and professions post-retirement. Past inductees have distinguished themselves through exceptional professional achievements or impactful charitable work, embodying the Olympic values throughout their lives.

WOA President Joel Bouzou OLY praised Miss Ogallo’s inspiring accomplishments since her Olympic participation, recognizing her as a true representation of what it means to be an Olympian for Life. “We are honored to include you in the Paris 2024 edition of the program,” Bouzou remarked. The induction ceremony will take place on 29th July, 2024, at the World Olympians Association OLY House, with Patron Prince Albert II of Monaco OLY in attendance.

Ms. Ogallo pursued a Bachelor of Social Work, where she joined the University’s women’s basketball team. Her talent was soon spotted by the coach, who introduced her to taekwondo, setting her on a path to a remarkable career in the sport.

Ogallo’s dedication and skill earned her a place on the Kenya national team, making her the second Kenyan woman to compete in taekwondo at the Summer Olympics, representing the country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021. In addition to her sporting achievements, Ms. Ogallo holds a Diploma in Olympic Studies from the International Olympic Academy in Athens, Greece. She is also a passionate environmentalist and dedicated social worker, committed to promoting a green environment and serving her community.

Kibabii University, along with the Board of the Center for Creative Performing Arts and Sports (CECPAS) and the entire university community, proudly celebrates Faith Ogallo’s global recognition and her outstanding contributions both on and off the field.
