Kibabii University Participate in the National Tree Planting Campaign 2020

National Tree Planting Campaign 2020The national tree planting campaign 2020 themed “Panda miti, boresha maisha” in Bungoma county was held at Kaberua Forest Station, Kibuk river was officiated by Mr. Harry Kimutai, PS, State Department for Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture assisted by Amb. Simon Nabukwesi, PS, State Department of University Education and Research, Ministry of Education on 23rd June, 2020.

Kibabii University led by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ipara Odeo joined by representatives from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, representatives from Alupe University College, DCC Kapsokwony and members of Kaberua community participated in the tree planting exercise.

Mt. Elgon is a key water catchment tower in the region. To mark this year’s tree planting exercise, over 5,000 seedlings were planted. Tree planting exercise was conducted with strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health with regard to management of Coronavirus pandemic.
