Kibabii University Celebrates Staff Career Progression During Induction of Newly Recruited and Promoted Employees

Kibabii University on 10th June 2026 conducted an induction programme for newly recruited and recently promoted staff. The event not only welcomed new employees into the University community but also celebrated staff members who had earned promotions through dedication, hard work, and professional achievement.

The induction brought together members of the University Management Board, Heads of Departments, and staff from various sections of the University. The programme was designed to familiarize participants with the institutional governance structures, operational procedures, core values, policies, and strategic directions. Presentations were delivered by representatives from Human Resource Management, Academic Affairs, Quality Assurance, Partnerships and Research, Health Services, and the Directorate of Student Affairs.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Joshua Ogendo, who represented the Vice Chancellor, welcomed the participants and emphasized the important role every staff member plays in advancing the University’s mandate. He congratulated the promoted staff on their career advancement and noted that the University remains committed to nurturing talent, rewarding merit, and creating opportunities for professional growth. He further called upon all staff to uphold integrity, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork in the discharge of their duties.

Prof. Ogendo noted that Kibabii University continues to strengthen its local and international partnerships, having established fifteen (15) institutional collaborations, with an additional Memorandum of Understanding currently under development. He further encouraged staff to maintain strong professional digital profiles to enhance the visibility and reputation of both the individual and the University.

Speaking during the induction, the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance and Development), Prof. John Makokha, highlighted the functions of various departments, key institutional policies, and employee welfare provisions. He observed that the promotion of staff reflects the University’s commitment to investing in its human capital and fostering a motivated workforce capable of delivering quality services. He emphasized the importance of creating a conducive work environment and likened the University to the human body, where the effective functioning of every part contributes to the overall health and success of the institution.

Participants were further sensitized on anti-corruption measures, customer service excellence, health and wellness programmes, including mental health support services, and the role of digital visibility in strengthening the University brand.
