This is to inform you of an incident that happened on the night of Friday 1st December 2017 where the student, Moses Masika Wambilwa EDA/0120/15 was attacked on the way to his residence near Butieli High School by unknown people and suffered injuries.
The student was taken to the University Dispensary and transferred to Bungoma County Referral Hospital the same night. On the morning of Saturday, 2nd December 2017 he was transferred to Life Care Hospital, Bungoma (Lumboka Hospital). After a review of his state he was referred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Eldoret for further treatment.
The University in conjunction with the County Commissioner and Police have availed a patrol vehicle and extra security to monitor and ensure the safety of students. The University is following the issue and will update you on the progress of the student and ongoing investigations.
In the meantime we advise all students and particularly all non resident students to take extra caution with regards to their personal safety .
