Courtesy Call by The Chief Executive Officer, KASNEB

The Chief Executive Officer, KASNEB, FCPA Prof. Nicholas Letting visited Kibabii University on Tuesday 20th August, 2024 to do a spot check on the progress of the ongoing KASNEB Examinations for the August sitting as well as pay a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor. The CEO was received by Prof. Joshua Abuya, Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Partnerships, Research and Innovation) who was representing the Vice Chancellor. The other officers present were Prof. John Makokha, Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics and Students Affairs), Dr. Fred Atandi, the Chair of Department (Economics, Finance and Accounting) in the School of Business and Economics, CPA Dorris Serem, Accountant who is also the Patron, Kibabii University CPA Club among other officers.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor acknowledged and appreciated the ongoing collaboration and partnership between Kibabii University and KASNEB. He also thanked the KASNEB for approving the University as an Examination Centre in Bungoma County. This was a testament to the University’s commitment to quality teaching and learning.

During the discussions, there was a proposal for further collaboration for establishing a Centre for Professional Studies at Kibabii University which was aimed at providing professional Courses offered by KASNEB to students and staff members. There was need for sensitization to students on the importance of pursuing professional courses offered by KASNEB which include CPA, CIFA, CS, CCP, CISSE and Vocational Certificate Courses alongside their Degree Programmes.

The CEO, KASNEB promised that KASNEB would closely work with Kibabii University to have an Open Forum as a platform to sensitize Kibabii fraternity on the importance of professional courses. He emphasized the need for graduates to be multi-skilled to competitively fit into the dynamic job market and reiterated KASNEB’s commitment to support Kibabii University students who were willing to pursue KASNEB courses but were not able to raise the required fees would be supported through the KASNEB Foundation upon meeting minimum requirements.

He also noted that KASNEB through the Office of the Vice Chancellor had appointed two KASNEB Students pursuing their programmes at Kibabii University as KASNEB Ambassadors. These students would help to market KASNEB professional courses with the aim of increasing uptake by University Students.

In his closing remarks, the Vice Chancellor, represented by Prof. Abuya appreciated the CEO KASNEB, for the continued partnership and contribution towards excellence in education and professionalism. That Kibabii University was proud to partner with KASNEB.
