Commission for University Education Undertakes Regular Institutional Audit at Kibabii University

Kibabii University is currently undergoing an Institutional Audit by the Commission for University Education (CUE), an exercise that runs from 2nd to 5th March 2026. The audit, which is conducted every five years, is designed to ensure that the University continues to operate in accordance with the provisions of its Charter and in full compliance with national regulatory standards governing higher education institutions in Kenya.

The CUE delegation is chaired by Prof. Davis Gichoya, who is leading a team of panelists tasked with evaluating the University’s systems, processes, and overall institutional performance. Upon arrival, the team was formally received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo, together with members of the University Management.

The audit focuses on key functional areas critical to the effective running of the University. These include Funding and Financial Management, Educational Activities, Library and Information Services, Information and Communication Technology, Research and Innovation, Community Outreach and Services, Internal Quality Assurance, as well as Physical Facilities and Utilities.

Within the University, the exercise is being coordinated by the Directorate of Quality Assurance under the the Director, Dr. Linda Ouma, who is working closely with various departments to facilitate the review process.
