Center for Languages and Cultural Studies (CLACS) Board Training Workshop

Kibabii University’s Center for Languages and Cultural Studies (CLACS) Board held an induction training workshop at the Vice-Chancellor’s Boardroom on Thursday 20th June, 2024. The training brought together various stakeholders who brought in a wealth of knowledge key in the development and management of the activities of the Board.

In his presentation, the Chairman of the Department of Economics Dr. Fred Atandi thanked the Board for the steps it had made so far in establishing itself. The importance of any training is to remind members of their global, regional, national and local responsibility to every member of the community. He implored upon the members to ensure that the objectives of the Board align with the government agenda and the University’s goals.

While making her presentation, the Ag. Coordinator Quality Assurance Miss. Sophy Nekoye thanked the Board for ensuring that their inception activities are keeping within the expected ISO Standards. She challenged the Board to formulate quality objectives which should be geared towards provision of quality services to the customer, efficient management of resources and provide room for continuous improvement. The importance of ISO Standards in any organisation is to help it be more efficient and meet customers’ satisfaction.

The Director of Planning and Organization Performance Prof. Samuel Mbuguah thanked the Board for inviting key stakeholders in the development and growth of the Center and its focus on anchoring itself on a strong foundation. He informed the training that a Strategic Plan was key in ensuring the success of the Board’s activities and promised to support the Center in delivering on its objectives.

On his part, the Centre Director Prof. Ernest Mohochi expressed his gratitude to the presenters for finding time to equip the Center with knowledge and skills that are key in its growth. He expressed confidence at the ability of the Board to deliver on the duties and called upon key stakeholders to support the Center and the Board.
