Kibabii University was once again recognized and awarded during the DIAR Awards 7th Edition held at Sarit Expo Centre, Nairobi on 7th March, 2025. KIBU emerged with three awards namely: Winner in Best Public University on Good Governance, Transparency and Accountability; Winner in Best Public University on Performance Management and Finalist in the Best Public University on Equitable Allocation of Opportunities and Resources categories translating into two Trophies and a recognition certificate.
The DIAR Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony is a platform for recognizing and rewarding key stakeholders, including MDAs, SAGAs, County Governments, NGOs, CSOs, as well as Public and Private Companies, and Individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles alongside the values of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). This event highlights the efforts of those who drive positive societal change by fostering empowerment opportunities for persons with disabilities, women and girls, youth, and ethnic minorities, all while committing to planet stewardship. The theme of this year’s Edition was “Awarding Investors in People, Planet Guardians, and Champions of Prosperity for Posterity.”
The awards were based on internal and external research and reviews of the latest publicly available reports including the Status of Compliance of the Public Service with Values and Principles in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution by the Public Service Commission. Other constitutional provisions and legislations factored include: Articles 10, 27, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 232 of Kenya’s Constitution of 2010; NCI Act of 2008; Persons with Disabilities Bill, (Senate Bill No. 7 of 2023).
This was the second time that the University was participating in the DIAR Awards, a timely precursor to KIBU’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. The success is attributed to the exemplary teamwork among Council, Management, Unions, Faculty, Staff, Students and all the stakeholders. This is KIBU. Known for punching above our weight.
