Vice Chancellor Extends Condolences to Governor Kenneth Lusaka

On 15th October, 2024, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ipara Odeo Ipara visited Bungoma County Governor H.E. Kenneth Lusaka to offer his condolences following the passing of Governor Lusaka’s mother, Lay Canon Rhoda Namaemba. Mama Rhoda, a respected educator and devoted member of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), passed away on Sunday, 13th October, 2024.

Prof. Ipara was joined by members of the University Management team in expressing their heartfelt sympathy to the Governor and his family during this difficult time.

Governor Lusaka shared fond memories of his late mother, describing her as a pillar of strength within the family and a dedicated leader within her church community.

“My mother has been an icon and a great pillar in our family since the passing of our father in 1995,” he reflected.

He also celebrated her commitment to education and her significant contributions to the ACK church, where she served as a valued synod member.

The University extends its deepest sympathies to Governor Lusaka and his family as they honor the legacy of Mama Rhoda and her lifelong commitment to service, family, and faith.
