Kibabii University library has received a donation of 390 books from a seasoned scholar Prof. Jude Julius Ongong’a of Kenyatta University. The books are out of his own collection over the years.
The professor of Phenomenology of Religion and African Culture (Religious Ethical Dilemmas and Moral Conundrums) presented the volumes of books to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo on Tuesday 1st February, 2022.
“The books donated here today are a representation of Prof. Ongong’a’s lifelong passion for promoting African knowledge and cultivation the culture of philanthropy in his area of knowledge. We must appreciate his kindness and generosity,” Prof. Ipara noted.
Prof. Ongong’a who is an alumnus of Pontificus University Urbaniana, Rome Italy has served in several universities globally and earned monumental awards. He today believes that it’s time to give back to his country.
In attendance during the handing over ceremony was the DVC (Planning, Partnerships, Research and Innovation) Prof. Dr.-Ing. Benedict M. Mutua, Ag. DVC (Academic and Student Affairs) Prof. Stanley Ngome Mutsotso, Registrar (Planning, Partnerships, Research and Innovation) Prof. Barack Otieno Abonyo among other University officers.
