The 5th annual Islamic rally in Kibabii University at the auditorium C was a successful event with an attendance of almost 400 people. This number is almost double compared to last year’s event. The rally which was hosted by the Muslim students association of Kibabii University brought together local muslims, non-muslims, Universities, colleges and high schools with an aim sharing of knowledge and ideas in Islam as the theme of the event goes “Meeting of minds.”

The theme goes by the meeting of minds because the invited guests usually listen to lectures from Muslim scholars on topics directly affecting their lives. With the current issues on radicalization of the Muslim Ummah, Sheikh Abdul Malik Kipsang’ elaborated the concept of radicalization in Islam. Then Imam Iddi Juma educated and addressed on Islam in the 21st century mainly giving details about fashions, behavior and trends in Islam. The last topic was about empowering the muslim youth. This topic mainly aimed at establishing positive mentality by elaborating who is muslim youth according to Islam. This topic was elaborated well by Ukhty Ihlma.

As Islam fosters the concept of brotherhood the rally created a rapport among the in attendants where people met old time friends, made new friends, exchanged ideas, concepts and knowledge. The rally acted as bench making opportunity where the in attendants learned how the other institution carryout their activities.

The rally begun at 10 am by speeches from the Msakibu chairman and patron.  After the speeches we had Qur’an recitation Muhammad Khalif. Then Imam Malik gave the first lecture the Imam Iddi Juma was next before the lunch and Dhuhr prayer break. In the afternoon we started with question and answer session before our sister Ilham gave her lecturer. The rally was concluded by awarding of certificates to the invited Muslim association from different institutions. The rally ended at 4.30pm by a prayer before everyone dispersed to different destinations.
