As we stand on the precipice of a technological revolution, the landscape of libraries and information management is evolving in profound ways, driven by the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The integration of AI in library and information services and operations presents a unique opportunity to enhance the way we deliver information, engage with patrons, and manage information resources.
Kibabii University recognizes the importance of equipping information professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate this rapidly changing environment, hence the upcoming workshop which aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of AI technologies and their applications within the information profession context. The workshop will explore how AI can transform library operations, information retrieval, user engagement, and marketing/communication efforts, ultimately leading to improved service delivery and user satisfaction.
Participants will not only gain valuable insights into the role of AI in shaping the future of libraries but also foster a collaborative environment for sharing experiences and ideas. We are excited to embark on this journey of discovery and growth, as we collectively strive to enhance our libraries’ capabilities and ensure they remain vital resources in the digital age.
