Our Strategy

One of Kibabii University’s strategic priorities is internationalisation. This goal is aimed at positioning KIBU as a vibrant and supportive intellectual environment that attracts, connects, and engages scholars and students from diverse backgrounds across the world.

The Directorate of Partnerships and Linkages (DPL) provides strategic leadership in advancing the University’s internationalisation agenda. Its key objectives include:

  • Promoting global partnerships that support research collaboration, staff development, student exchange, and other institutional priorities.
  • Strengthening collaboration with African universities through joint training programmes that contribute to the development of the next generation of academics for the continent.
  • Expanding international academic mobility through joint degree programmes, co-supervision of PhD candidates, PhD exchanges, and providing opportunities for doctoral and postdoctoral fellows to gain international exposure, as funding permits. This also extends to selected postgraduate and undergraduate students.
  • Enhancing the global visibility of KIBU scholars through open scholarship practices and effective communication and dissemination strategies.
  • Increasing the recruitment and diversity of international students across full-degree programmes, block-release programmes, and semester study abroad opportunities, while steadily growing their overall numbers.
