  • Occasional Students
  • Regular (Degree-Seeking) Students
  • Research Associates

Exchange Students

Exchange students are enrolled at partner universities that have formal agreements with Kibabii University outlining the terms and objectives of academic exchange programmes. These students benefit from mutual institutional arrangements, including academic participation and cultural exchange.

Exchange students typically do not pay tuition fees at Kibabii University and may transfer credits earned during their study period back to their home institutions, subject to their university’s policies.

Occasional Students

Occasional students are those who are already enrolled at another university and wish to undertake selected courses at Kibabii University for a limited period, usually between six and twelve months.

Applicants must meet the University’s admission requirements and are required to pay the prescribed occasional student fees. Credits earned during this period may be transferred to their home institutions where applicable.

Regular (Degree-Seeking) Students

Regular students are admitted into full-time academic programmes at Kibabii University and follow the same curriculum and academic requirements as local students.

These students are fee-paying and are awarded certificates, diplomas, or degrees upon successful completion of their respective programmes.

Research Associates

Research Associates are typically postgraduate students from international institutions who are admitted for a specified period—usually up to one year—to conduct research at Kibabii University.

They are attached to relevant academic departments and have access to university facilities and resources to support their research activities. Students in this category are required to pay applicable fees.

Postgraduate Students

International students intending to pursue postgraduate studies (Master’s or Doctoral programmes) are encouraged to contact the relevant academic department, faculty, or the School of Graduate Studies well in advance—preferably at least one month before the intended admission date.

Detailed information on available programmes, admission requirements, and fee structures can be accessed through the University website. Students in this category are required to pay fees as stipulated in the University guidelines.
