The Department of Students Affairs has over the years provided efficient and enviable welfare services to our customers who are mainly the students. The Department has also presided over students’ elections as enshrined in the University Statutes and SOKU Constitution. These elections have produced high calibre leaders who (after graduation) have ventured in national politics where they have excelled.

The University supports the formation and growth of Clubs and Societies that serve various interests of students under the guidance of Club Patrons. Out of a number of initiatives, the Clubs have supported needy students and also played key roles in giving back to the community. To complement these initiatives, the University provides financial aid services and work study programs for deserving students and this has continued to grow and tremendously improved over the years.

As a Department, we have placed counselling and chaplaincy services at the core of supporting the wellbeing of our students. These have greatly supported our core customers in both psycho-social and spiritual growth and nourishment, translating into excellent results in academics and research activities.
