Professor Isaac Ipara Odeo, the Vice Chancellor, Kibabii University delivered a public lecture on “Ukati wa haiba ya mwalimu katika ujifunzaji wa Kiswahili: Je nadharia ipo?“ and launched his memoir “The Silent Footsteps” on Thursday 8th October, 2020 at Kibabii University. It was a colorful event that was graced by over 100 invited guests. The event was also streamed live on the University’s social media accounts (YouTube and Facebook). Prof. Ipara Odeo said that success in his academic journey has been made possible with support from his family, colleagues, mentors and friends.
Prof. Ipara Odeo appreciated his family for their unwavering support and everyone who has stood with him throughout his teaching and administrative career in different learning institutions. The chief guest was Prof. Inyani Simala who is the Executive Secretary, East Africa Kiswahili Commission. Other guests included Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Zackaria Kinuthia, Deputy Governor, Bungoma County, Hon. Prof. Charles Ngome, DVC (Student Affairs), Moi University, Prof. Nathan Ogechi and Prof. Egara Kabaji among other guests.
