Kibabii University has officially concluded another successful chapter of international academic exchange, as it bids farewell to Ms. Pauline Hasler from Switzerland and Ms. Veronika Jany from Germany. The two interns, who arrived in July and August respectively, have completed their two-month internship under the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) programme.
Ms. Hasler, a Biomedicine student from the University of Zurich, and Ms. Jany, pursuing Pharmacy at Christian Albrecht University, were attached to Bungoma District Hospital throughout their stay. Their internship offered hands-on experience in Kenya’s Healthcare System, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to local medical teams while gaining practical insights aligned with their academic disciplines. The experience contributed fresh perspectives, cultural exchange, and a spirit of collaboration, from engaging in field-based projects to sharing knowledge with local professionals.
While bidding them farewell on Friday 22nd August, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Partnerships, Research and Innovation), Prof. Julius Maiyo, exuded confidence in the internationalization trajectory the University is pursuing.
“As they prepare to return to Europe, Kibabii University celebrates the impact they’ve made and the bridges they’ve helped build between institutions and cultures. Their journey reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to international engagement, research, and innovation,” he said.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Hasler and Ms. Jany for their dedication, and we wish them continued success in their academic and professional pursuits. Their legacy remains a testament to the power of global exchange and the promise of future collaborations.
