appraisals and employee productivity in the Busia County Government, Kenya. Using a descriptive research design, the study employed both quantitative and qualitative methods, collecting data from 425 employees through questionnaires, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between appraisal frequency and employee productivity (? = 0.392, p &lt; 0.001). However, in a multiple regression model controlling for other performance appraisal practices, frequency showed the smallest unique contribution (? = 0.112, p = 0.003), suggesting that while regular appraisals are important, other aspects of the appraisal process may have a more substantial impact on productivity.
