This study investigated community involvement in school management and academic performance of public day secondary schools in Bumula sub county, Bungoma county, Kenya. The study focused on community involvement in provision of school infrastructure, involvement in resource mobilisation, involvement in student discipline and involvement in decision making on academic performance of public secondary day schools in Bumula Sub County, Bungoma county, Kenya. The study schools were 43 public day secondary schools with a total of 233 respondents, whereas the sample was 160 respondents. The sample comprised of (30 village reps, 30 teachers\u2019 reps, 30 PA reps, 30 principals, 30 BOM chairs and 2 Educational and 8 National government administration officials). The study adopted stratified sampling procedure to identify sub-groups in the target population where sub-groups comprised of; Principals, BOM Chairs, PA representatives, teacher representatives to BOM and representatives from the Local community and education and national Government administration. Purposive sampling was used to select public day secondary schools because they had the required information that the researcher needed. The study used questionnaires and interview schedule to collect data. The instruments were validated before they were taken to the field. To determine the content validity of the instruments, the research supervisors from Kibabii University were consulted to check on the validity of the items indicated in the research questionnaire and interview schedules. The data collected was analysed using descriptive statistics; frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviation for qualitative data. Quantitative data was analysed thematically using content analysis method. SPSS programme was used in data coding, entry and analysis. The findings of the study indicate that there is a statistically significant difference in the influence of the community involvement in student discipline maintenance as evident in the progressive KCSE performance of learners. Community involvement in student discipline maintenance has impacted positively on the academic performance of learners in public day secondary schools in Bumula Sub County. The study concludes that community involvement in resource mobilization and support school infrastructure in schools will influence community involvement in management on academic performance of public day secondary schools in Bumula sub-county, Kenya. The study suggested the following recommendations be adopted; Infrastructural cost-sharing policy be enacted to govern infrastructural provisions in schools, harambees and funds drives be reinstated with strict guidelines to ensure the community fully participates in resource mobilisation, Parents and motivational speakers should be incorporated in the schools guiding and counselling programmes, and the ministry of education should put up structures to ensure that community involvement in school management is geared towards the academic performance of learners.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
