
Biography
Dr. Patrick Oduor Owoche is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology and the Director of Open, Distance and eLearning (ODeL) at Kibabii University. He holds a PhD in Information Technology from Kibabii University, an MSc in Information Technology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor of Education (Science) degree in Mathematics and Physics from Egerton University. Dr. Owoche has extensive experience in university teaching, research, and academic leadership, with expertise in web and multimedia technologies, digital infrastructure, cloud computing, instructional design, and technology-enabled learning. He teaches and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students and has successfully supervised and examined numerous master’s and doctoral theses in Information Technology, Data Science, and related fields. His research interests span digital learning, artificial intelligence, semantic interoperability in health systems, cybersecurity, climate-smart agriculture, and digital innovation. Dr. Owoche has published widely in refereed international journals and has participated in competitive research and capacity-building projects funded by organizations such as the European Commission (Erasmus+), UNESCO, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and the National Research Fund. He is actively involved in international academic collaboration and serves as the National Treasurer of IAESTE Kenya.
