Biography

Dr. Jacinta Mukonyo Mutwiwa is a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics and the Coordinator for Linkages and International Affairs at Kibabii University, Kenya. She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Kibabii University, where her doctoral research focused on a coupled mathematical model for cervical cancer incorporating diffusion and diagnosis. Her research interests lie at the intersection of biomathematics and public health, including epidemiological modelling, systems biology, nonlinear dynamics, and renewable energy optimization. Dr. Mutwiwa is an active researcher with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and has successfully supervised postgraduate students. She has attracted international grants, including the CEMA Fellowship  which supported her PhD studies, the ISSBD Early Career Scholar Travel Grant, and the AIMS-Carnegie Research Fellowship. She is a member of the Kenya National Statistical Society (KNSS), the Association of Women in Science, and the Applied Malaria Modeling Network (AMMnet).
