Kibabii University welcomed back Mr. Granton Omuse Mungau, who completed his Spring Semester exchange programme at NLA University College in Norway, and bid farewell to Ms. Bahati Ingcen Masinde, who is set to undertake the Autumn Semester exchange at the same institution under the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme.
The two students, accompanied by Erasmus+ Mobility Programme team members Prof. Robert Kati and Mr. Onex Opati, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Partnerships, Research and Innovation), Prof. Julius Maiyo. Prof. Maiyo congratulated him on successfully completing the programme and encouraged him to share his experiences with fellow students to inspire greater participation in international exchange opportunities.
Addressing the outgoing student Ms. Bahati, Prof. Maiyo urged her to embrace every opportunity for academic and personal growth, represent Kibabii University with excellence and integrity, and serve as a worthy ambassador of the University throughout her stay in Norway.
Following the courtesy call, Mr. Opati, together with previous beneficiaries of the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme Ms. Masai Faith Henzen, Mr. Kiboi Oscar Segero and Mr. Granton Omuse Mungau conducted a pre-departure orientation for Ms. Bahati. The induction covered practical aspects of studying and living in Norway, including adapting to Bergen’s changing weather and seasons, managing culture shock, understanding Norwegian customs and expectations, and making the most of the country’s student-centred learning environment.
Ms. Bahati was also encouraged to embrace the opportunity to experience Norway’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural scenery, strong commitment to sustainability, and diverse international student community while proudly representing Kibabii University.
The Erasmus+ Mobility Programme continues to advance Kibabii University’s internationalization agenda by providing students with opportunities for global exposure, cross-cultural learning, academic collaboration, and personal growth.
