Requirements for International Students<\/strong><\/h1>\r\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Kenya Students Pass<\/strong><\/h2>\r\nAll foreign students are required to have Kenya Students pupil pass before admission.\r\n\r\nProcedure for application\r\n
    \r\n
  1. Register with eFNS portal<\/strong><\/li>\r\nThe process is done online from the online immigration portal fns.immigration.go.ke\r\n
  2. Apply for student pass<\/strong><\/li>\r\nThe Process is done online; the applicant after completion; has to print out the form 30 and attach it with the required documents.\r\n
  3. Submit student pass application<\/strong><\/li>\r\nStudents require cover letter from KIBU Registrar.\r\n
  4. Obtain notification of approval<\/strong><\/li>\r\nOnce the student pass is approved; the applicant receives a notification about the amount to be paid and the deadline for payment. (Currently East African origin Students are exempted from the student pass fees payment)\r\n
  5. Pay for student pass fees<\/strong><\/li>\r\nThe payment is made online from the efns account (payments section) and an invoice is generated after the payment; to be submitted at the immigration.\r\n
  6. Obtain a student pass<\/strong><\/li>\r\nThe applicant receives a notification once the student pass is issued and ready for collection.\r\n
  7. Student pass endorsement<\/strong><\/li>\r\nThe student pass once collected; must be endorsed in to the passport of the applicant from the immigration office\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n \r\n

    Charges\u00a0for Kenya Students Pass<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n
      \r\n \t
    1. Kenya Government fees for those from outside the East African Community – KES. 5,000.00 per year (students pass), KES. 15,000.00 (research pass);<\/li>\r\n \t
    2. Processing\/facilitation fee and all activities related to service delivery \u2013 Ksh.2,700.00; and<\/li>\r\n \t
    3. International Student Registration fee \u2013 KES.4,500.00.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n \r\n\r\n

      Application for a Student\/Research\/Internship Pass<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

      Kenya Student pass<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nThis is a document issued to applicants (foreign students) (section 30(1) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Regulations 2012, who wish to pursue their education in Kenya’s Education or Training Institutions where they have been accepted or admitted. The applicant (foreign student) must be accepted as a student by an approved Educational or Training Establishment.\r\n

      Kenya Internship\/Research pass<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nThis is a document issued to person(s) seeking to enter and remain in Kenya for the purpose of undertaking Internship or an academic research within Kenya. The applicant must be accepted as an intern or researcher in an institution within Kenya.\r\n

      Kenya Student’s Pass Requirement<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nSigned commitment letter from the sponsor – both new and renewal cases\r\n\r\nNational passport copy of the sponsor – both new and renewal cases\r\n\r\nProof of funds for self-sponsored students – both new and renewal cases\r\n\r\nCopy of a valid national passport both new and renewal cases (the bio-data page)\r\n\r\nCurrent immigration status for the student- both new and renewal cases (If in the country)\r\n\r\nTwo (2) recent passport size color photos. – both new and renewal cases\r\n\r\nDuly certified Copies of basic academic certificates for those joining\u00a0 Universities -new cases\r\n\r\nCopy of the school’s\/college registration certificate from the Ministry of Education – new cases\r\n\r\nCertified copies of progress report\/transcripts obtained (by the issuing institution) -for renewal cases\r\n\r\nCopy of student’s pass previously held -for renewal cases\r\n\r\nPolice Clearance Certificate from the country of origin, or if a resident, from the Kenya Police Service\r\n \r\n\r\n

      Kenya Internship \/ Research Pass Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\r\nA duly filled, signed and stamped application Form 30, by the institution’s authorized personnel (Both new and renewal cases) . You will print out the form at the end of the application for a Student pass. In case you want to reprint your application form, you can do so by going to “My Applications” section here\r\n\r\nDetailed and Signed cover letter from the institution indicating the internship or research topic to be pursued and the duration and should be addressed to the Director of Immigration Services\r\n\r\nCopy of a valid national passport (the bio-data page)\r\n\r\nCurrent immigration status of the pupil\/student(if in the country)\r\n\r\nTwo (2) recent passport size color photos\r\n\r\nDuly certified copies of academic certificates and CV\r\n\r\nDocuments in foreign languages should be translated into English by either the Embassy, Public Notary, or authorized \/recognized institution\r\n\r\nCopy of research permit from the National Council for science and Technology for those undertaking research programs\r\n\r\nPolice Clearance Certificate from the country of origin, or if a resident, from the Kenya Police Service\r\n\r\nCopy of Checklist. click here to download (Check List PDF<\/a>)\r\n\r\n \r\n

      How to apply<\/strong><\/h2>\r\nYou need to:\r\n\r\nCreate a log in account within the Government of Kenya Single Sign on portal<\/a>\r\n\r\nLog in using the account you have created above to access eFNS portal\r\n\r\nOnce logged in the eFNS portal, select the “Apply now” Link\r\n\r\nClick on the “Submit Applications” tab and select the Student pass tab. If you are already logged in to eFNS, you can click here<\/a> to make an application.\r\n\r\nAfter your application is approved, an invoice will be generated which you can see by clicking on “Dashboard” then “Payments” Tab. If you have already logged in eFNS, you can click here to make a payment<\/a>.\r\n\r\nIf unable to pay using any of the online modes, print your invoice by clicking on “Dashboard” then “Payments” Tab (If you have already logged in eFNS, you can click here<\/a> to print your invoice).
