Aziza Hussein Mohamed\u2019s University\u2019s four years journey came to a joyful conclusion on the 25th<\/sup> March, 2022 during the University\u2019s 6th<\/sup> graduation ceremony where she was conferred with a First Class Honors\u00a0 Degree in Criminology in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.<\/p>

The daughter of the late Mzee Hussein Mohamed and Mama Amina Shee Suo and a sibling to Ally Hussein and Fatma Hussein. Aziza started her schooling at Kingsway Nursery School then proceeded to St. Kevin Primary for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). Her good performance led her to Sheikh Khalifa Secondary School where she sat for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). As she was preparing for her form four exams the loss of her father dealt a big blow to her dreams of joining the University to undertake Engineering as a course. Her fascination of crimes came in handy and this meant that she had another option to pursue and that is where Criminology came in.<\/p>

As a young 16 year old Muslim lady being miles away from home in a foreign environment and taking Criminology as a course of study took a heavy toll on her during the start of her University education. Though the start was a bit turbulent the subsequent years were smooth after she settled in. She enjoyed her stay in the University and appreciated every effort that was placed in ensuring a quality and smooth learning environment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Aziza says she will dearly miss the lectures which played an integral role in stirring her interest in thinking out of the box and engaging in rigorous research and critical thinking which stimulated and made her appreciate the course more. She also took time to appreciate her friends (both within her course and outside) who gave her a strong support in her academic and social life. It is them that made her second and subsequent years be conducive for her learning.<\/p>

Her favorite time in University was all those moments she spent researching in the library and spending times with her course mates in discussions. She also feels proud to be part of the University\u2019s 10 years anniversary celebrations.<\/p>

Aziza\u2019s message to the continuing students is to remain principled throughout their studies, avoid bad companies which usually breeds negative attitudes towards one\u2019s academics, abstain from drugs and substance abuse and work hard in their studies. She expressed with a heavy heart regrets at how she saw through the years her fellow students wasting their lives in alcohol and substance abuse and over indulgence in things that were not beneficial to their studies.<\/p>

She intends to continue with her further studies and achieve the highest achievement and would love not to leave the lecture halls and be part of the growth of knowledge in criminology.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
