Over 25 Universities Confirm Participation in the Upcoming National Varsities Competitions

The much-awaited Kenyan University Games slated between 18th to 21st December, 2021 at Kibabii University have attracted over 25 universities that have confirmed to participate.

This was announced by the Kenya Universities Sports Federation National Executive Secretary Mr. Joseph Sandagi during the Head of Sporting Departments’ consultative meeting attended by 32 university representatives at Kibabii University on Friday, 5th November, 2021.

The students will compete in various disciplines as outlined by the Tournament Technical Committee; Athletics, Track & Field, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Darts, Handball, Hockey, Netball, Rugby 7s, Scrabble, Soccer, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tae Kwon Do, Tennis, Volleyball, Tug of War and Wood ball.

The Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs) Prof. Julius Maiyo who is the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee affirmed the University’s readiness to host and encouraged more Universities to confirm participation.
