Kibabii University played host to officials from the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) today 5th October, 2022. The delegation led by the Institute’s Chairman of Council Mr. John Karani and the Western Chapter Chairman Mr. John Chebos was received by the acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Donald Siamba Namasaka.
The Institute, which draws its mandate from the Supplies Practitioners Management Act No.17 of 2007 (the SPMA) registers, licenses and regulates all supplies practitioners in Kenya. Their visit to Kibabii University comes at a time when the Institute is expanding its portfolio by fostering collaborations with top universities in the region to enhance professionalism in staff, students and lecturers of procurement and supply chain profession.
In his package, Mr. Karani proposed the establishment of Kibabii University as a centre for training professionals in Bungoma County and other neighbouring counties. The Centre will give opportunity for training in CPD professional courses and other programmes offered in the Institute.
The meeting was attended by all members of the Procurement Department headed by Senior Supply Chain Officer Ms. Jessica Wanyonyi and representatives from Finance, Academics and Human Resource.
