The Personal Assistant of the Vice Chancellor, Talli Khani was nominated for the Personal Assistant of The Year Award™ – Africa (PAYA) which recognizes and celebrates the important role played by Personal Assistants and/or Executive Assistants across Africa who: Provide extraordinary support and continually think of ways to streamline processes and improve performance, Exhibit exceptional leadership, resourcefulness, innovation, creativity, Assume responsibilities far beyond daily work, Provide quality control for administrative processes and show great diligence and Conduct themselves in a professional manner all the times.
After a competitive elimination process, Ms. Khani was 3rd runners up in Africa. The event took place in Lesotho on 17th – 21st September 2018. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ipara Odeo was her key nominator.
The winners for this Year’s Award 2018 were:-

- 1st Runners Up – Ms. Mankhaolise Tsakatsi, Ministry of Mining, Maseru, Kingdom of Lesotho
- 2nd Runners Up – Mr. Ignasius Namunju, Office of the Deputy President, Kenya
- 3rd Runners Up – Ms. Khani Talli, Office of the Vice Chancellor, Kibabii University, Kenya
